Excursion
As a tradition of every NOEKS, an excursion will take place on Wednesday, 26th of September, during the afternoon, followed by a conference dinner.
Visiting the Park Sanssouci in Potsdam
Being in direct neighborhood to the Charlottenburg Palace and the Friedrich-Wilhelm-Gedächtniskirche while at the NOEKS, we like to deepen the historical and architectural insights of our guests to Berlin and organize a trip to the nearby palace of Sanssouci in Potsdam. Its baroque garden was redesigned according to the taste of Frederick the Great’s successors and was even more expanded by Frederick William IV via structures comprising for example the Charlottenhof Castle or the Roman Baths, not to mention the beautiful orangery. The palace presents a well-preserved 18th century interior decoration, the display of the king's vision of “Prussian Arcadia.”
Boat trip back to Berlin City and conference dinner
After visiting Sanssouci and Potsdam, we head back to the city of Berlin on the river Havel on a boat named "Spree Comtess" from the Reederei Riedel. The ship can host up to 180 people and provides plenty space to engage in discussions and to enjoy a conference dinner, while we slowly merge back into the big city with its skyline in the night.
The journey starts at 5pm, where we enter the boat at the Potsdam Lange Brücke. The trip takes about 3 hours, and ends at the station Hansabrücke at approximately 8.30pm in the middle of Berlin City-West.
